OpportunitySpace is an online marketplace and community that helps you discover and invest in untapped real estate opportunities. Our mission is to rebuild our cities by empowering public, private, and civic stakeholders to work together to reinvest in urban areas. We provide dynamic tools that streamline information access and create communication channels among these decision-makers. We are seeking candidates with interests in creative urban redevelopment and technology. We’ve been featured in Atlantic City Lab, Inc., and The New York Times, among others.

As a community management intern, you will generate intelligence about user experience to inform ourinternal product strategy, as well as design and deliver content to share across various mediums, including our company blog, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You will analyze the characteristics of users and develop strategies for engaging and gaining new users. Your work will support product development, content marketing strategy, community management, and business development.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will gain experience in interviewing and storytelling by writing engaging content on our community of users, which includes private and nonprofit real estate developers, architects, planners, artists, and civil servants. You will coordinate closely with OpportunitySpace’s Chief Customer Officer and our Social Media Lead. Your day-to-day work will include:

Survey and interview OpportunitySpace users
Identify, monitor, and convert existing networks of users (e.g., Whereby.us, Meetup.com, FB groups, etc.)
Write engaging user profiles
Write inspiring user project profiles
Analyze registered user characteristics
Create calendar of key times to promote individual users and their projects
Coordinate with Graphic Design Intern to illustrate content
Coordinate with Client Relations Intern and CCO to deliver formal content back to client.
Coordinate with Social Media Intern to deliver informal content to users/clients via Social Media.

Skills, Experience, Expectations

Background in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, Anthropology, Sociology, Design or other related discipline.
Strong listening, writing, and communication skills.
Creative, curious, and friendly.
