The Role:

As our company continues to expand, we need an experienced and energetic manager of content marketing. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Demand Generation, this manager will set the strategic plan for the creation of content to support aggressive lead generation goals. The ideal candidate must be a creative writer, editor and marketer who focuses on developing content for a variety of channels and uses to achieve specific objectives. The leading candidate’s portfolio will include samples of work in areas including, but not limited to, B-to-B promotions, thought leadership, blogs, e-books, slide shares, success stories/use cases and whitepapers.

Responsibilities:

- Develop a strategic content plan and ensure that plan is supporting all areas of the funnel and personas.
- Oversee the development of all content to ensure brand compliance and messaging consistency.
- Develop content and promotional campaigns to generate new sales leads.
- Produce content that establishes the company as a thought leader and extends its reach by being picked up and redistributed.
- Generate and execute on ideas for testing new content channels, campaigns and concepts to drive cost-efficient leads.
- Develop a content measurement plan to ensure we understand what content is most/least effective at driving qualified leads. Ensure that plan reflects this insight.
- Aggressively review and stay abreast of market trends through all available resources, including trade publications, third party market reports, direct customer contact, participation in industry conferences/expos/trade shows, etc.
- Actively solicit input, communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders including product management, sales, and account management.
- Lead the development of all forms of content by managing a team of 2+ internal resources as well as external content creation resources.
- Ensure that the team is adequately supported by a content marketing software platform to ensure the content creation process is efficient and effective.
- Proven ability to manage both internal and external resources to meet objectives and goals. A nimble manager/leader who can motivate, set direction and communicate clearly and concisely to ensure resource pool is optimized.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred
- 5 – 7 years of marketing experience (primarily digital); start-up experience preferred
- Experience managing a team of 2+ as well as vendor/freelance resources
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Marketo, HubSpot, WordPress, Kapost and other leading marketing tools
- Track record of using content marketing to generate quantitative results
- Demonstrated ability to juggle short-term needs with overall strategy
- Excellent project-management, editorial and problem-solving skills
