Our mission is to rebuild our cities by empowering public, private, and civic stakeholders to work together to reinvest in urban areas. We provide dynamic online tools that streamline information access and create communication channels among these decision-makers. We are seeking candidates with interests in urban redevelopment, real estate, and technology. Your main focus is to help us identify and reach city governments and other public entities that are actively engaging urban redevelopment and revitalization. As the Digital Marketing and Business Development Intern, you will analyze the goals, needs, and issues of this target group (we call them “partners”) as they deploy their redevelopment initiatives and programs.

You will also help to enhance our internal strategies for gaining and engaging new government partners. This role offers creative thinking and willingness to experiment as you will generate targeted messaging, including content that influences target partners prior to our formal sales outreach. Examples are curating and activating a LinkedIn group for government partners interested in creative redevelopment strategies, or conducting other target customer campaigns (email campaigns, conference reports, newsletter support, and other outbound digital marketing tools).

Roles and Responsibilities

You will coordinate closely with OpportunitySpace’s executive management and content team. Your day-to-day work will include:

Research, identify, and profile relevant government customers.
Design and manage outbound lead generation strategy.
Write descriptions of government customer types/needs.
Coordinate with Content Team to deliver informal content to potential leads via Social Media.
Coordinate with VP of Business Development to inform formal content to leads.
Report to Chief Customer Officer to inform client engagement strategy.

Skills, Experience, Expectations

Background in digital marketing, communications, sales, business development. Familiarity with real estate development, urban policy/planning is a plus.

Market and Lead Research: Able to assess potential target customer(s) by reviewing media, trade publications, and conducting open source research.
Hustler: Self-motivated. Comfortable with interpersonal communications and relationship management.

Highly organized and disciplined.
