OpportunitySpace is an online marketplace and community that helps you discover and invest in untapped real estate opportunities. Our mission is to rebuild our cities by empowering public, private, and civic stakeholders to work together to reinvest in urban areas. We provide dynamic tools that streamline information access and create communication channels among these decision-makers. We are seeking candidates with interests in creative urban redevelopment and technology. We’ve been featured in Atlantic CityLab, Inc., and The New York Times, among others.

As a social media intern, you will implement our social media strategy by sharing company-, and user-generated content across various mediums, including our blog, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You will analyze the characteristics of our social media audience and track optimal strategies for engaging and gaining new users and followers. Your work will support user acquisition, content marketing strategy, and business development.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will manage all social media accounts in order to grow and engage our user base. You will coordinate closely with OpportunitySpace Chief Customer Officer, content creators, and our users, which include private and nonprofit real estate developers, architects, planners, artists, and civil servants. Your day-to-day work will include:

Identify relevant news to share with our users.
Optimize key words that make our social media content searchable to our users.
Coordinate with content-creating staff to summarize and schedule content-sharing
Coordinate with OpportunitySpace Management team to schedule client and product updates.
Analyze and summarize characteristics of Twitter followers.
Identify relevant potential users.
Track and report effectiveness of social media strategy.
Cross-promote OpportunitySpace and peer platforms via social media

Skills, Experience, Expectations

Background in Marketing, Communications, English, Political Science, Design or other related discipline.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of social media.
Creative, highly organized, communicative.
Interest in learning inbound/content marketing.

Desirable but not required: Graphic design/photography skills. Experience with social media management tools like HootSuite, SocialBro, or Hubspot.

Flexible working hours: 8-12 hours/ week for 12 weeks
Can work remotely.
Work for course credit or pay (based on experience).
