Vice President – Engineering

Job Information
As a VP of Engineering for an early stage company, you will be expected to provide hands on guidance in product development for our young team. As a products company, you will be expected to successfully take an early concept stage product through commercial deployment while creating a culture of rapid product iteration and deployment. This position is a key hire and will also be responsible for working with the founders to set technology and product vision and direction.

- Lead the development and launch of our first product and bring the engineering team through the hurdles of scaling and attaining profitability.
- Provide technical direction and guidance as well as hands-on project management, for all product development.
- Build and manage strategic and external relationships.
- Ensure optimal allocation of technology and engineering resources to meet product development goals and/or exceed customer requirements.
- Hire and direct a team to implement necessary resources and meet scheduled commitments.
- Implement a culture and supporting processes that focuses on rapid iteration, perpetual learning, mentorship, respect for new and different ideas, and a passion for individual leadership and responsibility.
- Develop and implement robust strategies for capturing value and protecting Intellectual Property

Basic Required Skills:
- A sense of dauntless adventure and unbridled optimism
- 15+ years with systems and/or product experience
- At least 1 successful product deployments
- Experience with design for manufacturability, usability, serviceability, & reliability.
- Experience and willingness to work with customers
- Strong sense of self motivation and operational and project management skills
- Team building and leadership skills with a talent for leading others
- Ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools such as Solidworks enabling the implementation of design to manufacturable product workflows.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams

Desired Skills/Experience (Should have 3 of the 6 listed below)
- Mechanical, petroleum, or aerospace engineering background
- Experience in turbomachinery or other rotating machinery
- Experience in power generation products
- Experience in O&G Services business
- Experience with high volume production products
-Previous experience in a start-up environment
