PULSE@MassChallenge Names 2018 Cohort

MassChallenge on Thursday revealed 32 startups that will participate in the startup accelerator’s digital health program PULSE@MassChallenge for 2018.

The accelerator said the startups in the program’s second cohort were chosen from a pool of more than 500 applicants from around the world. The PULSE program began last year as a strategic component of the statewide Mass Digital Health initiative.

Unlike MassChallenge’s main program, which accepts 128 startups every year, PULSE aims to match its participating startups with healthcare institutions, systems and payers to help them achieve certain milestones, such as a pilot study or funding round. The startups also receive free co-working space and an opportunity to apply for $50,000 in need-based startups. The startups also have a chance to compete for a share of $200,000 in no-equity cash in an awards ceremony that happens at the end of the program next year.

MassChallenge said the startups that participated in last year’s inaugural digital health program raised more than $18 million in funding and brought in more than $4.5 million in revenue.
