At EMBR Labs, we believe harnessing the body’s natural response to temperature can improve personal well-being. As a startup founded by engineers from MIT, our mission is to build a future where wearable cooling and heating technology makes people feel more comfortable in their own skin. Our first product, Wristify, is a bracelet that will be launching as a consumer product in 2017.

The Head of Marketing will oversee the outreach and growth efforts that will drive awareness, conversation, and conversion for our products.

This role presents a unique opportunity combining high-level strategy and direct implementation of B2c marketing activities. It will begin ahead of the consumer launch of Wristify following four years of intensive product development, and will continue with growth sales and the subsequent launch of follow-on products. Wristify will be distributed through direct online sales and will be promoted using social media advertising, influencer marketing, customer referrals, and public relations.

We are looking for a bright, passionate and entrepreneurial marketer with experience targeting the health and wellness consumer. The Head of Marketing will take on significant responsibility and will have the opportunity to play an instrumental role in the commercial success of our early-stage high tech startup.


- Marketing strategy. Lead the whole range of go-to-market activities for Wristify and EMBR Labs’ subsequent B2C products. Working side by side with our founders, you will refine target consumer personas to better understand who our ideal Wristify customer is and the benefit we are providing for them. You will own marketing campaigns, and the customer acquisition model.
- Customer acquisition. You will design and implement marketing automation systems (including email and other inbound platforms) to optimize for Wristify sales and engagement. You’ll be managing agencies and freelance contractors who will implement public relations (PR), creative asset development, web development, social media advertising, and SEO.
- Marketing campaigns. Design, test, refine and manage execution of all marketing campaigns
- Content creation. You will craft the the key content for marketing emails, social media campaigns, PR campaigns, in collaboration with contractors.
- Community engagement. Proactively engage with influencers, social media followers, and newsletter subscribers
Leadership. Manage future marketing & sales hires as the team grows


- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a B2C acquisition role (or 3-5 years in an e-commerce marketing or digital marketing role for a digital agency)
- Designed and managed email and other marketing campaigns from inception to completion
- Defined and executed data-driven customer growth and engagement strategies
- Managed customer acquisition and marketing automation programs
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, social media marketing, SEM, SEO, mobile, CRM, A/B testing, landing page optimization, customer segmentation, and personalization
- Created and presented marketing strategy and business data
- Experience managing contractors


- Experience building a consumer acquisition strategy from the ground up for a consumer tech company
- Experience with e-commerce sales, (including Amazon) and third-party logistics
- Direct experience in the health and wellness sector
- Experience working in a startup environment
