Main Responsibilities:

The role of the Marketing & Communications Manager will focus on two main MassChallenge stakeholders: Startups/entrepreneurial ecosystem and Partners (corporate sponsors). Each of these audiences has different communication channels audiences etc.

• Communication strategy
o Define the communication strategy for MassChallenge stakeholders
o Define MassChallenge Mexico messaging for each stakeholder
o Implement and drive strategically the communication strategy
o Create case studies, proof sources and compelling stories of corporate and public partnership success

Marketing Duties
o Create a holistic marketing strategy
o Manage the newsletter and regular external communications
o Manage event promotions for major public events
o Support the marketing of MassChallenge’s application recruitment across various marketing channels
o Marketing strategies for Corporate stakeholders of MCMX
o Lead generation activity generally focused on creating new partnerships, marketing, and mentoring opportunities

• Reporting
o Have a knowledge of how to measure success in marketing & communications and set and deliver on key metrics
o Must be able to interpret those metrics into lessons and strategies to improve performance and apply them month to month

• PR & Speaking Opportunities
o Direct strategy for event speaking engagements
o Build and develop meaningful relationships with our marketing nodes and other key players to find relevant speaking opportunities and other networking events

• Community Engagement

o Work alongside with the Community Director to develop a strategy to engage with the MassChallenge Mexico Community, including different stakeholders, such as Partners, Mentors, Startups, etc

• Database Management
o Strategically manage the MCMX database
o Collaborate with MassChallenge Mexico’s Operations Manager to maintain and update the communications database

• Social Media

o Develop a strategy with the Community Manager to achieve the planned growth results
o Managethedifferentsocialmediachannels(Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
o Stay up to date with social media, startup ecosystem, Corporate-Startup collaboration trends
o Interact and build relationships on social media with key influencers

• Content creation
o Develop an ongoing content calendar and pitch and create new content ideas that are relevant to the trends and discussions
o Draft articles, op-eds, blogs and other content
o Have a great attention to detail and ability to thoroughly research topics in a short amount of time as background documents
o Assist with talking points for events and interviews for senior staff as needed
o Drive all presentation, proposal and related collateral to support partnership sales and account management

• Relationship Management
o Build relationships with current participants and alumni to promote their news strategically
o Manage outreach and support for MCMX program, acting as primary liaison with MC HQ Global Marketing in aspects of PR, communications, design, and creative content
o Pursue, secure and manage new marketing partners to expand community outreach
o Create a culture of high-service, high-support, and high expectations in the work developed within the area
o Manage dependencies during busy times to ensure smooth delivery
o Manage the visual representation and presence of partners on MC's website, digital outreach, walls in program offices with heavy collaboration from the MC HQ marketing and software engineering teams.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: 5-7 years of marketing and operations experience

Global Business & People Operations

  • Program Operational Support: Provide regular operational support as the “account manager” for 2-3 global programs working with the in-country teams on a daily basis to provide them with the guidance and resources needed to accomplish their goals.

The Programming Manager is an Austin-based position. This work is directly connected to our entrepreneurs and requires people management and operations experience.

Main Responsibilities:

Curriculum:

  • Identify needs of startups to help identify curriculum subject matter
  • Research, identify and recruit speakers to build our curriculum speaker program
  • Work with Director of Operations to develop speaker program calendar

  • Prepare background materials and develop proposed action strategies in support of MassChallenge’s efforts to advance curriculum initiatives, including sector specific, diversity efforts, and programming partner opportunities

Planning & Program Support:

  • Create projects for years 1, 2 and beyond that are (1) highly important to the success of the Texas program team and (2) to implement and scale processes
  • Evaluate the success of each programming opportunity, and overall Accelerator, using quantifiable metrics such as number of attendees, post-event surveys, NPS scores across communities
  • Scope, plan and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal outside assistance
    • Present ideas for programmatic projects that might facilitate MassChallenge’s  objectives.
    • Work with appropriate stakeholders, including outside partners, to undertake analysis.

Cycle Operations:

  • Develop a quarterly planning strategy for the Texas program to maximize value to startups
  • Assist in the development of an annual program plan and budget for the Texas program

Community & Outreach Regional Director

The primary goal of this role is to build and strengthen the community around MassChallenge Mexico while expanding its reach to LATAM in a strategic manner (starting with Colombia and Guatemala). In addition to this, the Community & Outreach Regional Director will be in charge of developing relationships with the entrepreneurship ecosystem and deliver the strategic projects that will strengthen the positioning of MC in the mid-term.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Strategically expand the value position of MC within LATAM

 

  • Work with the Managing Director to develop a strategy to position MassChallenge in Guatemala, Colombia, and ultimately LATAM
  • Identify key stakeholders in the LATAM region starting with Colombia and Guatemala
  • Create and develop a relevant community in the region
  • Liaise with local governments, accelerators, incubators, universities, foundations and partners to develop collaboration projects

  • Ensure the execution of programs with government, corporate partners, and universities.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Degree: MBA or Graduate degree a plus
  • The successful candidate must have consulting and project management experience
  • Strong understanding of the external market, competitive landscape, and trends that impact our business.
  • Exceptional relationship skills, negotiating skills, and the ability to build rapport with internal and external constituencies.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive substantial market growth within a compressed time frame.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication.
  • Clear focus and demonstrated capability for data-driven decision making based on in-depth analytics.
  • Strong process and customer service orientation.
  • Capable to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
  • A professional, hands-on, resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
  • Skilled in leveraging limited resources to create big successes.
  • Enjoy working in a deadline-oriented high-pressure environment with many conflicting priorities - and the ability to effectively prioritize.
