Grant Writer

Under minimal supervision, work with NangioTx and an academic investigator at New Jersey Institute of Technology to develop, present, and bring to final submission large, multidisciplinary, and multi-collaborative grant proposals involving federal, state, and private funding agencies and organizations.

This will require you to:
-Develop a budget
-Writing, edit, and proofread proposals
-Assist with assembling scientific documents as necessary (e.g., large institutional grants, annual/occasional reports, progress reports for grants administration, IND applications, etc.).
-Search the internet and other sources for foundation and government grant opportunities. Translate scientific abstracts into lay terms
-Perform other related duties as assigned or requested such as presentation of draft ideas and plan to investigators.
-Follow established academic and company policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines.
-Practice a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
-Requires a Master’s degree and one or more years of scientific writing experience, preferably in a healthcare/research/academic environment. Experience writing grants, including NIH R01 proposals, SBIR, STTR, and/or experience with IND applications and clinical protocols preferred. Doctorate in biology, biochemistry, or other life science, previous work as a Principal Investigator is preferred.
-Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to details.
-Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and competence with on-line searches.
-Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop will be needed, experience with Adobe Illustrator and data analysis/graphing software preferred.
