Communications Intern

If you are interested in improving the lives of refugees through language training, this internship is for you! The ideal candidate for this internship is a student of education, marketing, communications, government affairs, non-profit sector management, or foreign languages who speaks and writes fluently in French, German and English. This role reports to the founder and is ideal for a summer internship position for 4 hours per day / 3-4 days a week in June, July and August. Hours are flexible, but at least 2-3 days on-site in Rennes per week, with 1-2 half days per week of remote work, with occasional events in Geneva. If you'd like to continue after the fall school term begins, hours will be very flexible. The role is also a good volunteer role for a qualified non-student candidate to build part-time work experience and be part of an exciting EdTech start-up.

Primary duties:
* Draft and manage correspondence with governmental institutions and refugee aid organizations in Germany and Geneva
* Perform project management to help with company workflows mainly in the areas of content management and marketing (manage Excel spreadsheet to track content development work - ensure content is posted across all appropriate online vehicles)
* Help with content development and curriculum roadmap planning
* Write press releases, white papers and eLearning materials related to language education

Secondary duties:
* Help with social media postings and community management
* Some administrative support as needed
* May perform some management of work performed by content creators (translators and voiceover artists)

Desired skills and capabilities:
* Self-starter who can be given a strategic goal then run with it to successful completion
* Innovative thinker who can help improve programs and processes
* Fluency in German, French and English
* EXCELLENT writing skills for public-facing documents
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Experience in government liaison work is a plus
* Social media experience is a plus
* Digital marketing skills are a plus
* Must have/bring your own mobile computer
* Accessible by iMessage (or WhatsApp) and Skype for remote meetings and communications
* Transportation to/from Rennes office for daily work and Geneva for occasional events
* Some evenings will have events that you may enjoy attending!
* Represent the company at MassChallenge events when other employees are unavailable to attend
