Senior Product Designer

ARMR Systems LLC is an early stage medical device company. We develop hemorrhage control systems designed to increase the survivability of traumatic injury in situations where advanced medical support is not immediately available. Our team of engineers and designers is building personal response systems that save lives, democratize access to care, and give hope to victims of traumatic injury when they need it most.

The Position
ARMR is looking to add a talented designer to our growing team. We are not simply a medical device company, but a medical design company, and designers are an invaluable part of our product definition process. Designers make high- level concepts tangible and advocate for our users. Informed by ongoing user research and product performance metrics, as a lead designer you will help define every aspect of our product design strategy and roadmap. You will work closely with engineers to not only determine feature requirements and articulate novel concepts but to develop a deep understanding and empathy for complex user environments and behaviors. As Senior Product Designer you will...
• Work with other designers/engineers to prototype, iterate, and create products from the ground up through to
• Direct and coordinate all aspect of company’s apparel design, iterative prototyping, production, and advanced
material research and integration.
• Initiate and prepare detailed specifications for products, equipment, tooling, and processes to obtain optimum
cost and quality manufacturability.
• Implement and utilize strategies to ensure concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing concepts with
the design engineering team and partner suppliers.
• Spearhead development of appropriate user experience and design research infrastructure to enhance product
design and user/stakeholder engagement (i.e. interviewing, surveying and assessment of users/stakeholders).
• Produce all of the expected UX artifacts: personas, scenarios, journey maps, task flows, wireframes, screen
layouts, and interaction models, while rapidly evolving concepts into buildable designs.
• Co-lead the company’s brand management, digital, and print design efforts, from website improvements to
media/marketing materials.

• Degree in Industrial Design or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Able to relocate to Boston, MA
• Superior design skills and a passion for integrative/simplifying design within low-resource environments.
US Citizen
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experimental design and end-user interactions. Capturing user attitudes and pains.
• Skills:
o Ideation, brainstorming and concept rendering (ie. sketching, modeling, etc.) o Strong technical writing skills
o Proficient with Advanced 3D modeling and rendering software: SolidWorks proficient (required), Autodesk Fusion 360 (preferred), Gerber Pattern Design software (preferred)
o Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)

• Textile/apparel experience. Focus on sewing and prototyping garments.
• Hardware user and human factors experience; usability expert
• Manufacturing and Product Design Experience (i.e., taken products to market)
• Familiarity with relevant military/medical and commercial design standards.
• Experience within relevant industries: tactical apparel, sporting goods, wearables
• Hobbies/Abilities: Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Outdoor & Hiking Enthusiast
• Military Veteran
