PULSE@MassChallenge Picks 32 for Digital Health Cohort

Building on the strong response to its inaugural digital health cohort this year, PULSE@MassChallenge expanded on the theme of champions such as hospitals, insurance, technology and pharma companies picking the startups they want to work with. The 2018 cohort will pair two champions with each of the 32 startups selected for the six-month program.

Pulse@MassChallenge Launches Second Class

Pulse@MassChallenge, the pre-series B digital health startup accelerator that launched last year with the backing of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a number of industry supporters, has announced the 32 startups in its second class, which will launch tonight at an event in Boston.

PULSE@MassChallenge Names 2018 Cohort

MassChallenge on Thursday revealed 32 startups that will participate in the startup accelerator’s digital health program PULSE@MassChallenge for 2018.

The accelerator said the startups in the program’s second cohort were chosen from a pool of more than 500 applicants from around the world. The PULSE program began last year as a strategic component of the statewide Mass Digital Health initiative.

These 18 MassChallenge Startups Just Won $1.5M

Eighteen of Boston’s most promising early-stage startups won a total of $1.5 million at Thursday night’s MassChallenge awards ceremony.

The startup accelerator’s top four winners — CozyKin, Off Grid Box, Pykus Therapeutics and Vence — each won $100,000 while 12 other startups each received $50,000. One of the $50,000 winners, Guardion, and two other startups won a share of $500,000 from CASIS-Boeing for research projects on the International Space Station.  

MassChallenge Names Four Startups as $100K Winners

WeWork CEO Adam Neumann had a few tidbits of sage advice for MassChallenge entrepreneurs on Thursday night, including: "Don’t listen to what other people say about you," "Know your strength and understand your weaknesses," "Focus on how you talk and how you act today," and "The woman to marry is the first woman to call you on your (expletive)."

On November 2, MassChallenge held the 2017 MassChallenge Boston Awards at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. In addition to using their eighth-annual event as a means to celebrate the accelerator's success this year, MassChallenge Boston also handed out $1M in equity-free prizes to winners of its Top 26 startups (of 128 total).
