Each year 450,000 preterm infants are born in the U.S. Of these, 109,000 are born before 34 weeks. The health of these infants' gut is central to their growth and brain development. There is no standard to measure the health of a preterm infant's gut. NICUtrition makes it easy to quantify gut health, optimize treatments and personalize nutrition. We have two modules: Guidance, a dashboard to track growth and automate feeding protocols and MAGI a proprietary algorithm that measures gut health.

Alkemy Environmental has developed a patented technology process that recycles industrial waste streams into structural-grade lightweight concrete aggregate. We have completed the commercial pilot testing of our technology and our recycled aggregate has passed all environmental and building materials standards.

47% of all dogs over the age of 10 will die from cancer. With current treatment options expensive and potentially leading to negative side effects, VetiVax is a novel, personalized immunotherapy that uses the animals’ own tumor cells to fight the cancer.

Using a surgically excised portion of tumor tissue, we create a series of treatments that are given back to the animal to help stimulate their immune system to fight cancer, safely and inexpensively.

We make low cost, networked radiation detectors for federal and local security departments for detecting nuclear materials to better protect our borders and cities from nuclear threats.

This solution requires a small, low power, cheap, and highly sensitive radiation detector.
We have developed a new method using electronic properties of carbon nanomaterials that can dramatically reduce the size of radiation detectors, increase their performances, lower costs, and enhance portability.

WorkAround provides transitional employment to high-risk youth by connecting them with online microtasking opportunities that don’t require a work visa and offer payment alternatives to traditional banking that many lack access to.

At NU-RISE we are improving breast and prostate cancer treatments by providing the first in-vivo and real-time dosimeter suitable for radiation therapy. Currently these treatments are performed without proper validation and monitoring tools. At NU-RISE we want to change this.

We developed an innovative device - the biggest advantage is the use of a disposable probe so thin that it goes inside the patient body allowing real-time treatment monitoring and real-time treatment correction.

In an age of rising antibiotic resistance, treating patients with the right antibiotic quickly can be a matter of life and death. DZD uses novel sample prep, high throughput sequencing and machine intelligence to shorten the time it takes to identify a pathogen and predict its drug resistance profile from days to hours. Using our diagnostic, hospitals will be able to dramatically reduce hospital length of stay, the overuse of antibiotics, and save lives cost-effectively.

Epic CleanTec is decentralizing wastewater treatment by installing on-site reuse systems into individual buildings, saving owners/developers money by reducing their pre-development fees and their ongoing wastewater rates. Epic's proprietary system collects and processes all of a building's wastewater, recovering and converting the organic solids into a high quality soil product. The separated water, with the solids removed, can be treated with ancillary technologies and reused in the building.

BackTracker offers a solution to the increasing problem of mislabeled or substituted seafood. It is a third party application that links government fishery landing records with seafood products giving buyers absolute confidence in the source of seafood they buy. The BackTracker technology is currently being operationalized on a big scale, in conjunction with the State of Massachusetts, largest groundfish dealer in New England, a large seafood processor and distributor and Wegmans supermarket.
