Problem: Many people want to support sustainable products. There is no well-established online marketplace for people to shop with selection & variety for products they need every day.

Solution: A marketplace that makes it easy to find quality sustainable product options. We have a minimum standard products have to meet across Health, Environment & Society and have filters for certifications and/or values ( vegan, plastic-free, upcycled etc.). All products shipped carbon-neutral.

TeleLingo is on a mission to save drivers’ lives by offering attention and risk management to fleet managers, insurers and ride sharing companies. LingoFit is an AI CoPilot using Machine Vision and biosensor data to prevent accidents caused by impaired driving due to distraction, fatigue, stress, drowsiness or medical conditions. LingoFit combines head pose and eye gaze tracking with wearable biosensor technology to provide the driver with real time warnings of potentially dangerous conditions.

TailorMed is an innovative financial management platform for chronically ill patients. Our mission is to help patients reduce their out-of-pocket costs, and decrease uncompensated care for hospitals.
TailorMed's first application focuses on US Cancer patients.
TailorMed solution provides a personalized projection of a patient's out-of-pocket cost across the entire medical journey and automatically finds cost saving opportunities, based on insurance and treatment optimizations

Medical Devices + Healthcare

Chronic leg wounds affect approximately 1 million people in the United States annually. Treatment consists of moist wound care, compression dressing, encouragement of the patient to walk and elevate the wounded leg when sitting. Healing a chronic leg wound is a long process taking six months and requiring 25 to 50 dressing changes. We have built a working prototype wearable device that monitors patient compliance and wound dressing status during the time between dressing changes.

We revolutionize modern playground equipment's capacity for education, energy efficiency, and entertainment. Our products harness children's mechanical energy and convert it into electricity in the form of lights and sounds. This real time feedback reflects the amount of energy generated, creating an interactive and engaging atmosphere. We give children a chance to gain an intuitive sense of their relationship with energy, while increasing the playground's ability to entertain.

Design + General + Design

Sleepboxes are 1 room rest stations. Customers utilize Sleepboxes in office spaces as all-in-one solution to rest, nap, meditate, call, focus and nursing room. They also can be "Sleep vending machines" or a module for a hotel. We designed Sleepboxes as self-contained pods with a small footprint for optimal use in these situations. We have installed 60 Sleepboxes in Europe in the past. Now in the US, we are targeting the office market, and looking to expand to other markets in the US.

Generation + Energy / Clean Tech

Skyven is pioneering a distributed energy solution for process heat. Commercial / industrial customers spend $150B annually on fuel for process heat, and more than half of the price they pay goes towards transportation and distribution of the fuel to their facility. Skyven saves customers money by producing heat on-site. Our technology-driven solution uses the sun as an on-site heat source, raising the temperature of the sun’s heat up to whatever temperature the customer needs (480F max).

There are 7.4 billion unique people in the world, but why are glasses and helmets one-size-fits-all? We are revolutionizing the wearables industry with 3D Fit technology, combining state of the art 3D scanning with 3D printing to automatically measure, design, and produce bespoke products. Building off the successful launch of our first product - Falcon I sport sunglasses, we will continue to deliver safe and comfortable eyewear, masks, helmets and other products to every distinct individual.

We believe in students who take action towards their education. We are addressing the difficulty of paying for higher education. ScholarJet is revolutionizing the scholarship process with action-based scholarships. Instead of writing essays, students will perform enriching challenges. These challenges represent donor causes and beliefs, which can be creative, physical, community service or STEM related. For example, there can be scholarships for running, web development, or even volunteering.

Roots Studio digitizes art from rural villages and transforms them into high-end and storied products, eliminating the burden of a costly supply chain. In 2 years, we have worked with hundreds of tribal artists across 4 states in India. Through our design hubs, we enable artwork to be uploaded and discovered by retail markets that appreciate culturally authentic designs. Our vision is to build a world in which artists can financially sustain their livelihoods while keeping their roots alive.

ReviveMed is a precision-medicine platform that leverages the data from small molecules or metabolites. ReviveMed technology, which was developed at MIT and published in Nature Methods, uniquely overcomes the difficulty of using a large set of metabolomic data, and transform these data into actionable insight. Currently, we selected a few strategic clients from leading pharma/biotech companies to provide them with drug de-risking, biomarker discovery and therapeutic solutions.

Healthcare

Developed from personal experience in the hospital, Resilience engages patients in a therapeutic design process to create custom socks and take their mind out of the hospital. For each pair sold, half of net proceeds is donated back to the patient to help pay for their care or a cause of the patient's choice. Beyond the tangible product, we're motivated by the idea that people have a unique opportunity for growth when at their most vulnerable. We make Socks with Stories.

Most companies lose 25% of their customers every year. Utilizing machine learning algorithms built at MIT, Relativity6 uncovers hidden opportunities within company databases. We can predict with above an 80% accuracy rate, which high potential lapsed customers has a propensity to make a re-purchase.

Medical Devices

At the end of retina surgery, a gas bubble is injected into the eye to tamponade (or affix) the retina in place. To keep the gas bubble (which floats) directed against the back of the eye, patients are required to lay face-down for 1 week or more and cannot see through the gas bubble nor fly until it dissipates. We are developing a optically clear, biodegradable polymer that will remove these lifestyle burdens from patients, as well as improve surgical outcomes and reduce reoperation rates.

Project Lever website provides 1) matching algorithm; 2) interactive visualizations; 3) data consolidation tools, using the latest advances in statistics and linguistics. Our present customers are Harvard, MIT, Notre Dame, and Columbia, as well as Harvard’s division for open online learning. Our goal is to become the premier mentorship solution for academic and corporate organizations, and open platform to people in developing countries.

Power Assist Solutions is dedicated to reducing fatigue and injury in hospital caregivers by improving patient transport in hospital and healthcare settings. Our design features an affordable and detachable motorized device that can be easily affixed to the sides of wheelchairs, reducing human effort input and improving wheelchair mobility. This works to reduce nursing injury rates, while helping hospitals lower healthcare costs.

Cybersecurity

Pixm, funded by Highland Capital, is building computer vision technology to detect zero-day brand new phishing attacks while current tools rely on blacklists, IP reputation to block only already known ones. 91% of breaches are caused by phishing attacks costing $3.2M/yr. We currently have 4 major customers including major Network Security provider and ex-NSA founded cybersecurity startup. Product trials last year flagged thousands of live attacks including one that attacked John Podesta and DNC.

Public Health + Fundraising

After graduating from Cornell, I found myself in a domestic abuse situation. When I tried to relocate to a shelter in Boston, my best friend Jazz, a black lab, was turned away and we both wound up on the streets. Thankfully, I found fostering through a group at Pine Street and were reunited on the other side. Up to 65% of domestic violence survivors ( 1 Million US) remain trapped for fear of leaving their pets. The mission of PetsEmpower.org is to keep furry families together through a crisis.

Peroxygen Systems is a clean chemistry company developing breakthrough technology for on-site hydrogen peroxide production. We are working toward fundamentally disrupting the existing manufacturing and distribution model for hydrogen peroxide. Our electrolyzer can reduce the cost of producing hydrogen peroxide by over 50%, while also completely eliminating the cost and safety issues associated with shipping and handling of high concentration hydrogen peroxide.

PainQx is a diagnostic/software company that has developed a next generation approach to objectively measure pain in humans. The PainQx platform achieves this by assessing neural activity from a patient’s brain and processing and decoding the data through proprietary algorithms. The output is a scaled pain and neurological side effects biomarker that is directly correlated to a patient’s pain state.

We use design-led methodologies to build trust into the platform, working with entrepreneurs from inception to investment-ready, making the African SME sector attractive, accessible and transparent to investors for the first time.

Education + High Tech

Operation Code focuses on finding ways to help the military community find new careers in software development. A lot of this is getting adjusted to the culture, so we help our community go to conferences, coding bootcamps, etc. We also work to get veterans back in groups - "squads" - working through Linux+ certifications, FreeCodeCamp, etc. Past and present Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard service members, veterans and military spouses are welcome to apply to our programs.

Internet of Things

At Oomf, we’ve built an extensible cloud platform that allows any thing to be located and shared. We partner with manufacturers who integrate their products into our platform. We then distribute their products to locations where sharing makes sense and we find a sponsor who makes the temporary use of that product low- or no-cost to the consumer.

In 2017, we’re focused making our first two product integrations, a laptop and a smartphone charger, shareable in the higher education market.

Water Treatment & Technology

Off Grid Box is a modular and compact unit that provides renewable energy and treated water in remote areas. We saw that one unit, managed by a local women co-op in a Rwandese village, impacts 1500 people providing Tier 1 electricity and sterilized water with a 20c$/d per family on a Pay-As-You-Go basis (half the current rate).
In less than 2 years, we sold 28 units in 8 Countries to individuals and NGOs.
Add-ons are desalination, wind, and connectivity.

OYU is a youth led program operating under a non-profit organization that strives to increase youth engagement in community centers and youth programs across Boston. There are numerous resources in our community but it is difficult to find updated and current information about the activities at each community center. OCC Youth Unleashed solves this problem by creating a user-friendly mobile application with information from each center, as well as hosting youth engagement opportunities.

At NU-RISE we are improving breast and prostate cancer treatments by providing the first in-vivo and real-time dosimeter suitable for interstitial brachytherapy. Currently these treatments are performed without proper validation and monitoring tools. At NU-RISE we want to change this.

We developed an innovative device which biggest feature is the use of a disposable probe so thin that goes inside the patient body allowing real-time treatment monitoring and real-time treamtment correction.

Nonspec delivers low-cost, durable prosthetic devices to developing nations. Our goal is to mass produce easily customizable prosthesis that can fit any amputation site. Our initial focus is providing our patent pending core technology to below knee amputees. Our lightweight device allows the same components to be fit to an 8 and an 18 year old and expand as needed to compensate for patient growth, while maintaining comfort. The device can be fit and adjusted with minimal training or equipment.
